No Less, Maybe Even More, But Different

Marriage while raising children doesn’t always look like I pictured it would.
In what feels like a different lifetime ago, we were just a couple of kids navigating our early twenties.
There was a playful freedom that comes along with still having time to explore who you are as a couple, and as an individual.

In that era, family was a shared dream that we’d tackle when we were ready.
But in those days of just you & I, time seemed to move so much slower and there was so much more
of it.
Now our love looks different. Not less, just different.
Fourteen years & four children later, if you listened in on our typical evening, you might hear-
“What should we make for dinner”
“Did she brush her teeth yet?”
“Who needs to shower next?”
“Did we schedule that appointment yet?”
But if you listen closely, you’d also hear us sneak in-
“Did you eat today?”
“How was work?”
“Did your headache go away?”
“Catch up on our show Friday night?”
When all is quiet in the house and the sun has set for the day, it’s so easy to remember that this is our greatest adventure.
Time is always marching on, and love will look different in every season.
We have no doubt we’ll look back on this time with nothing but memories of the most chaotic happiness.
Right now, our love looks like catching those fleeting moments of connection & knowing that no matter what- it’s always you & I.
